Lionel Messi, the World Cup-winning captain of Argentina, and Kylian Mbappe, the top French striker, will compete for the FIFA Best Men's Player title in 2022. On the other side, three players have been shortlisted for the FIFA Best Women's Player award for 2022 including American Alex Morgan, Spanish striker Alexia Putellas and English striker Beth Mead.Speaking about the best coaches, Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti, Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola and Argentina’s World Cup-winning manager Lionel Scaloni are included in the men's shortlist, whereas Sarina Wiegman, England’s European Championship-winning coach, Brazil head coach Pia Sundhage and Lyon’s Sonia Bompastor are on the women’s coach shortlist.
